How to Delete a NetSuite Subsidiary with a Default Case Profile
Learn how to remove a subsidiary that appears undeletable due to an associated default case profile, often hidden when the Customer Support and Services feature is disabled.
Short answer
To delete a NetSuite subsidiary linked to a default case profile, first enable the 'Customer Support and Services' feature. Then, navigate to the subsidiary record, change its default case profile to an alternative, and finally, delete the original case profile. This process resolves the dependency preventing subsidiary deletion.
Scenario
When a new subsidiary is created in NetSuite, a default case profile is automatically generated and assigned to it. If the 'Customer Support and Services' feature is not enabled, this profile remains hidden and inaccessible from both the Subsidiary record and Support preferences, preventing the subsidiary from being deleted due to an unseen dependency.
Solution
To successfully delete a subsidiary that is linked to a default case profile, follow these steps:
Enable the 'Customer Support and Services' feature by navigating to Setup > Company > Enable Feature > CRM > Customer Support and Services.
Edit the Subsidiary record and change its Default Case Profile, found under Preferences > Support > Default Case Profile, to another existing case profile.
Delete the original case profile from Setup. If all dependent records for the subsidiary have already been deleted, the subsidiary should then be deletable without further issues.
