Why Does Shipping Tax Not Recalculate on NetSuite Invoices?
This guide addresses instances where shipping taxes fail to recalculate on NetSuite invoices transformed from sales orders, providing a direct solution.
Short answer
To force NetSuite to recalculate shipping taxes on an Invoice transformed from a Sales Order, load the Invoice record and save it with `enableSourcing true`. If the tax does not update after the initial transformation, a second load and re-save of the Invoice using `enableSourcing true` is often necessary.
Scenario
Users may observe that shipping taxes do not recalculate automatically on Invoice records after they have been transformed from a Sales Order. This can lead to incorrect tax amounts being applied to the invoice, requiring a manual intervention to ensure accuracy.
Solution
The issue is resolved by forcing NetSuite to re-calculate shipping taxes on the Invoice record.
After transforming the Sales Order to an Invoice, load the newly created Invoice record.
Save the Invoice with
enableSourcing true. This action is intended to prompt NetSuite to re-calculate shipping taxes. If the shipping taxes do not re-calculate after the initial save, re-load the Invoice record.
Save the Invoice again with
enableSourcing true. This subsequent save typically forces NetSuite to perform the re-calculation.
