Can ‘-None-‘ Be Removed from Native Saved Search Filters in NetSuite?
Understand NetSuite's limitations regarding modifying options within standard available filters for saved searches.
Short answer
NetSuite currently does not permit direct modification of options within native 'available filters' for saved searches, particularly for <List> type fields. For <Record> type fields, the visibility of '-None-' depends on field configuration and data presence, not a universal exclusion.
Scenario
Users often seek to customize the options presented in 'available filters' within NetSuite saved searches. Specifically, there is a common inquiry about removing the '-None-' option from these filters to streamline data selection and reporting.
Solution
NetSuite's current functionality does not provide a direct method to modify the options displayed in an available filter when that filter is applied to a type field. When the filter is applied to a type field, the appearance of the '-None-' option may vary depending on whether the record field is optional or required and if there are records with no value for that field.
