How to Retrieve Joined Fields from NetSuite Saved Searches via Web Services?
When querying NetSuite saved searches through web services, fields from joined records may not appear in the SOAP response unless explicitly defined.
Short answer
When calling a NetSuite saved search via web services, fields from associated records obtained through joins will not be returned in the SOAP response by default. To ensure these "drilled down" fields are included, the join must be explicitly declared within your web services search request, overriding the saved search's existing definition.
Scenario
When calling an existing NetSuite saved search through web services, fields from associated records may not be returned in the SOAP response. For instance, if a saved search on the Partner record includes a join to display a field from the Customer record, this joined field will not appear when the search is invoked using PartnerSearchAdvanced via web services.
Solution
To retrieve fields from associated or "drilled down" records when calling a NetSuite saved search through web services, the join must be explicitly declared within your web services search. This ensures that all desired fields, including those obtained via joins, are included in the SOAP response, even if they are already defined in the original saved search.
