How to Access and Manage Memorized Transactions in NetSuite UI

Understand the process for generating transactions from memorized schedules and the limitations of SuiteScript interaction with these records.

Short answer

Memorized transactions are primarily managed via the NetSuite UI by navigating to Transactions > Management > Enter Memorized Transactions. Users select a schedule, then use the 'Enter' link or 'Enter Multiple' button to generate transactions. While SuiteScript can interact with existing memorized definitions, it cannot create new ones or directly generate transactions from templates.

Scenario

Users often need to generate transactions from predefined memorization schedules within NetSuite. A common question arises regarding the method for accessing and processing these memorized transactions, particularly concerning whether scripting can be used for automation or if manual UI interaction is required.

Solution

While SuiteScript cannot directly create new memorized transactions or generate transactions from memorized templates, it can interact with existing memorized transaction definitions (read, update, delete, and search). To access and process memorized transactions through the NetSuite user interface, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Transactions > Management > Enter Memorized Transactions.

  2. Select the desired memorization schedule from the available options.

  3. Utilize the 'Enter' link next to individual memorized transactions or the 'Enter Multiple' button to process several at once.

  4. From the generated transaction record, users can modify its details as needed and re-memorize it if further recurring instances are required.
