How to Manage and Reorder Currency Sublists on NetSuite Item Records?
NetSuite item records display currency sublists in a fixed order, which cannot be customized for reordering.
Short answer
NetSuite item records display currency sublists in a predetermined order: base currency first, followed by others alphabetically. This order cannot be customized or rearranged through form customization. To remove an unwanted currency, it must be deactivated, which will then update the display of remaining active currencies alphabetically.
Scenario
Users may observe that currency sublists on NetSuite item records appear in a fixed order, starting with the base currency and then listing others alphabetically. Attempts to customize the item form to rearrange or hide these currency sublists are unsuccessful, posing a challenge for managing currency displays.
Solution
When a NetSuite instance is created, the first currency sublist displayed on an item record reflects the base currency. Subsequent currencies are then listed in alphabetical order, not in their order of creation. The item record form cannot be customized to rearrange these currency sublists; the fixed order of the base currency followed by alphabetical listing of others will persist. If a currency is no longer required or desired on the item record, it can be deactivated. Upon deactivation, the remaining active currencies will continue to be displayed in alphabetical order, maintaining the fixed display logic. NetSuite has a known enhancement request concerning the ability to customize the order or visibility of currency sublists.
