How to Create a URL Link to Export NetSuite Saved Search Results?
Learn how to construct a NetSuite URL to access saved search results, with considerations for direct data export parameters.
Short answer
NetSuite users can construct a URL using the base search results path and the internal ID of a saved search. While the base URL and search ID are consistent, direct URL parameters for exporting to formats like PDF or Excel are not consistently documented and may vary. A parameter like "csv=Export" may be used for CSV.
Scenario
Users often need to generate direct links to NetSuite saved search results, potentially including parameters to trigger immediate data export. This is useful for embedding links in custom fields, email templates, or other systems where direct access and export of search data are required.
Solution
To create a link to a NetSuite saved search, construct a URL using the base search results path and the internal ID of the desired saved search. The base URL for accessing saved search results is:
https://system.netsuite.com/app/common/search/searchresults.nlAppend ?searchidXXXX to this URL, where XXXX is the internal ID of your saved search. For example, to access a saved search with internal ID 99:
https://system.netsuite.com/app/common/search/searchresults.nl?searchid99While the base URL and searchid parameter are accurate for accessing saved searches, the exact syntax for triggering direct PDF and Excel exports via simple URL parameters is not explicitly confirmed or consistently documented in current NetSuite resources. These functionalities are primarily available through UI buttons. For CSV export, a parameter such as csv=Export has been observed in some contexts, which may allow for direct export to CSV. However, the reliability and exact syntax for all export types via URL parameters may vary and are not the primary documented method. These constructed URLs can be utilized in formulas within other saved searches or custom fields to provide direct access to specific search results.
