How to Manage NetSuite Marketing Campaign Email Limits and DKIM Setup
NetSuite marketing campaign email limits are affected by campaign domain and DKIM setup.
Short answer
NetSuite marketing campaigns have email sending limits. A campaign domain is required for over 10,000 emails monthly. DKIM configuration removes the 10,000 per-blast limit; without it, monthly limits are 100,000. NetSuite charges per attempt, and yearly volume limits apply, triggering an error if exceeded.
Scenario
Organizations utilizing NetSuite for marketing campaigns or bulk email merges often encounter limitations on the volume of emails they can send. Understanding these thresholds and the necessary configurations to expand sending capacity is crucial for effective campaign management. Without proper setup, campaigns may fail to reach their intended audience due to exceeded limits.
Solution
To effectively manage email sending volumes for NetSuite marketing campaigns and bulk merge operations, consider the following guidelines and configurations:
Campaign Domain Requirement
If more than 10,000 emails are intended to be sent each month through marketing campaigns or email merge operations, a campaign domain must be set up.
DKIM Configuration
Setting up DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is essential. Without DKIM, the system cannot send more than 10,000 messages in a single email campaign. As of NetSuite 2024.1, DKIM setup involves configuring CNAME records for key rotation.
Email Sending Limits
- If DKIM is not established:
- No more than 10,000 emails per blast.
- No more than 100,000 emails per month.
- If DKIM is established:
- There is no limit on the number of messages that are sent in a single blast.
Billing and Usage
- NetSuite charges for email sending by the attempt, regardless of whether an email is successfully delivered.
- The "Campaign Email and Bulk merge volume" specified in the account's billing information is valid for one year.
- If the yearly limit is exceeded, the campaign will not be sent, and an error message will be received indicating that limits have been exceeded.
- No notification is automatically sent to administrators when email limits are exceeded; therefore, proactive monitoring of campaign email usage is required.
