Why Does Inventory Detail Quantity Reset in NetSuite Dynamic Mode?
Understand the timing of quantity field updates when working with inventory details in NetSuite's dynamic item processing.
Short answer
The quantity field in NetSuite's Inventory Detail can reset if the item is set after the 'Adjust By Quantity' field in dynamic mode. To prevent this, ensure the quantity is explicitly set immediately before the Inventory Detail sublist or pop-up is accessed, allowing the system to correctly capture the intended quantity value.
Scenario
Users may observe that the quantity field within the Inventory Detail sublist or pop-up unexpectedly resets to zero or an incorrect value. This issue typically arises when working with inventory items in dynamic mode, particularly after modifying the 'Adjust By Quantity' field. The system's processing order can cause the previously entered quantity to be overwritten.
Solution
The quantity field must be explicitly set immediately prior to accessing the Inventory Detail sublist or pop-up. This is crucial because, in NetSuite's dynamic mode, if the item is set after the 'Adjust By Quantity' field, the system may reset the quantity. By ensuring the quantity is established beforehand, the correct value will be preserved when the Inventory Detail is subsequently accessed.
