How to Verify Email Receipt and Opening for NetSuite Transactions
NetSuite offers features to track the delivery and read status of emails sent directly from transaction records, enhancing communication oversight.
Short answer
NetSuite allows users to track email receipt and opening for transactions using the 'Request Read Receipt' checkbox. This feature, available for emails sent from records, logs the status on a dedicated 'Read Receipts subtab'. Additionally, the Communication tab on any transaction provides a record of all sent emails, confirming dispatch.
Scenario
A user needs to confirm whether an email sent from a NetSuite transaction, such as a Purchase Order, was successfully delivered to the recipient and subsequently opened. The objective is to gain visibility into the communication status beyond just knowing if the email was dispatched from NetSuite.
Solution
NetSuite provides two primary methods to verify the status of emails sent from transaction records:
Verify Email Receipt and Opening
To track if an email was received and opened, ensure the 'Request Read Receipt' checkbox is enabled when composing and sending an email from a transaction record. After sending, the status of these receipts can be monitored on the 'Read Receipts subtab' associated with the transaction.
Verify Email Sent Status
To confirm that an email was successfully sent from NetSuite, navigate to the specific transaction record (e.g., a Purchase Order). Access the 'Communication' tab, where a log of all sent emails related to that transaction can be reviewed.
