How to Streamline NetSuite Login with Bookmarked URLs and SSO
Users can simplify access to NetSuite by leveraging bookmarked URLs, which, when combined with modern Single Sign-On configurations, can facilitate direct login to specific accounts and pages.
Short answer
Streamline NetSuite access by bookmarking direct links. When modern Single Sign-On (SSO) is configured, clicking these bookmarks can automatically log users into their NetSuite account. Ensure URLs include the `compid` parameter for account identification, allowing direct navigation to specific records or pages after successful authentication.
Scenario
Users frequently need quick and efficient access to their NetSuite accounts or specific records without repeatedly entering login credentials. Manually navigating to the login page and then to desired sections can be time-consuming, especially for frequently accessed pages or when managing multiple NetSuite instances.
Solution
To simplify NetSuite login and navigation, users can leverage bookmarked URLs. This method, when combined with a properly configured Single Sign-On (SSO) solution (such as SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect for Google Workspace), allows for streamlined access.
There are two primary approaches:
Bookmark the NetSuite Home Page (or any page after initial login):
- Right-click on the NetSuite icon or any active NetSuite page in the browser's address bar.
- Select "Copy Link Address" (or equivalent browser option).
- Paste this link into a new browser bookmark.
- Clicking this bookmark will direct the user to NetSuite. If a modern SSO configuration is active and the user has an active Identity Provider (IdP) session (e.g., Google Workspace session), NetSuite will automatically log them in. If the IdP session is not active, the user may be prompted to log in to their Identity Provider first.
Bookmark Specific NetSuite Pages with Account ID:
- NetSuite can direct users to a specific account if the URL includes the parameter
compidwith the account number as its value. Whilecompididentifies the account, automatic login is facilitated by a properly configured SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect SSO with an active Identity Provider session. - To bookmark specific projects, customers, important records, or searches within an instance, ensure the URL includes the parameter
&compid=at the end. - Example: To access the time entry page directly for account
