How to Update Lead Source on NetSuite Invoices Using CSV Import
NetSuite users can efficiently modify the Lead Source field on existing invoices by leveraging the CSV import functionality.
Short answer
To update the Lead Source on NetSuite invoices, utilize the CSV Import feature. This method allows for bulk modification of existing invoice records, ensuring accurate attribution of lead sources across your sales data. Prepare a CSV file with the internal IDs of the invoices and the new lead source values.
Scenario
Organizations often need to correct or update the Lead Source field on existing NetSuite invoice records. This requirement typically arises when initial data entry was incorrect, or when lead attribution needs to be refined for reporting and analysis purposes. Manually updating each invoice can be time-consuming for a large volume of records.
Solution
To update the Lead Source field on multiple NetSuite invoices, perform a CSV import:
Prepare a CSV file containing the NetSuite Internal ID for each invoice to be updated, along with the desired new Lead Source value.
In NetSuite, navigate to Setup > Import/Export > Import CSV Records.
Select 'Update' as the Import Type and 'Transactions' as the Record Type.
Choose 'Invoice' as the Transaction Subtype.
Map the 'Internal ID' column from your CSV file to the NetSuite 'Internal ID' field.
Map the column containing the new lead source values from your CSV file to the NetSuite 'Lead Source' field.
Proceed with the import to apply the updates.
