How to Import and Reconcile Payment Processor Files in NetSuite
Learn the steps to import online banking data and perform reconciliation using NetSuite's banking features.
Short answer
To import payment processor files, navigate to Transactions > Bank > Import Online Banking Data. Review imported transactions on pages like Banking Import History or Match Bank Data. Finally, reconcile these transactions using either the traditional Reconcile Bank Statement/Credit Card Statement pages or the newer Match Bank Data/Reconcile Account Statement pages.
Scenario
Organizations often need to import financial transaction files from payment processors or banks into NetSuite to facilitate accurate reconciliation. The challenge lies in understanding the correct process for importing these files and subsequently reconciling the imported data with existing NetSuite transactions.
Solution
To import the file, navigate to: Transactions > Bank > Import Online Banking Data.
After import, users can review the imported data, typically on pages such as Banking Import History or Match Bank Data, which have become more prominent for managing imported statements. When transactions match an online bank statement, they display as Cleared.
However, transactions must still be formally reconciled. While the Reconcile Bank Statement or Reconcile Credit Card Statement pages are available, NetSuite also offers the more modern and preferred Match Bank Data and Reconcile Account Statement pages for comprehensive reconciliation.
