How to Organize Lucidchart Diagrams in Specific Google Drive Project Folders
Learn to configure automatic syncing of Lucidchart diagrams to Google Drive and efficiently move them into designated project folders for better organization.
Short answer
To organize Lucidchart files in Google Drive, first ensure automatic syncing is enabled in Lucidchart settings. Then, locate the synced diagrams in the 'Lucid Integration' or 'Lucidchart' folder within Google Drive and move them to the desired project folder. Editing requires explicitly opening with Lucidchart.
Scenario
Users often need to maintain a structured file system within Google Drive, including diagrams created in Lucidchart. While Lucidchart can sync files to Google Drive, these files initially reside in a default folder, requiring manual relocation to specific project directories for proper organization and accessibility.
Solution
To effectively manage Lucidchart diagrams within Google Drive, follow these steps:
**
Configure Lucidchart for Google Drive Sync**
In the Lucidchart application, click *your name* on the top right corner, and select *Account settings*.
Select the Apps & Integrations tab. Under "Google Drive", ensure *Automatically sync new diagrams to Google Drive* is selected.
If unsynced files are present, manually select *sync now*.
**
Organize Files in Google Drive**
Navigate to My Drive > Lucid Integration or Lucidchart folder in Google Drive.
All Lucidchart files created by the user will be listed here.
Move the desired file to the appropriate project folder, similar to any other Google document.
**
Editing Lucidchart Files**
- When a Lucidchart file is double-clicked in Google Drive, it primarily opens in a preview mode.
- To enter edit mode, right-click the file and select Open With > Lucidchart.
