Why Can’t an Employee Record Be Selected on a NetSuite Time Entry?
Employee record availability for time entries in NetSuite is governed by the employee's Hire and Release dates.
Short answer
An employee record may not appear on a NetSuite Time Entry if their Hire Date is set in the future or if their Release Date has already passed. NetSuite uses these dates to control employee availability for time entry purposes.
Scenario
Users attempting to create a Time Entry record in NetSuite may find that a specific employee record is not available for selection. This prevents accurate time tracking for the employee in question.
Solution
The availability of an employee record on NetSuite Time Entry records is controlled by the employee's Hire Date and Release Date. If an employee record is not appearing, verify the following:
Ensure the employee's Hire Date is not set in the future relative to the time entry date.
Confirm that the employee's Release Date (if applicable) has not already passed relative to the time entry date.Adjusting these dates on the employee record will make the employee available for time entries within the specified period. It is important to note that this date-based availability control for time entries does not extend to assigning employees to projects or tasks.
