Why Does NetSuite’s Sales Order to Fulfill Reminder Show More Orders Than the Fulfillment Page?

Learn why the Sales Order to Fulfill reminder count might exceed the actual number of orders available for fulfillment, often due to payment holds.

Short answer

Discrepancies between the Sales Order to Fulfill reminder and the fulfillment page often occur when sales orders are on hold. This can happen if AVS data from payment gateways like Cybersource is unavailable for webstore orders. To address this, review and release affected orders on the Manage Payment Holds page.

Scenario

Users may observe a discrepancy between the number of Sales Orders displayed in the 'Sales Order to Fulfill' reminder portlet and the actual number of Sales Orders appearing on the fulfillment page after clicking the reminder link. For example, the reminder portlet might show 6 Sales Orders to Fulfill, but only 3 appear on the fulfillment page.

Solution

The discrepancy typically occurs when sales orders are placed on hold. A common reason for this, especially with webstore orders, is when Address Verification System (AVS) data from payment gateways (e.g., Cybersource) is unavailable, leading to an automatic hold.To view and manage orders currently on hold, navigate to the following page:Manage Payment Holds
