How to Capture CyberSource Payments in NetSuite with External Authorization
Learn the straightforward process for capturing CyberSource payments in NetSuite when credit card authorizations are handled by an external system, leveraging existing transaction IDs.
Short answer
To capture CyberSource payments in NetSuite when authorization occurs externally, enable "Allow Request ID to Meet Payment Card Field Requirements" in the CyberSource Profile. Ensure the external transaction_id is pushed to the Sales Order's P/N Ref field and the "Credit Card Approved" box is checked. Payment capture then occurs upon creating a Cash Sale from the Sales Order.
Scenario
A common challenge arises when credit card authorizations are processed by an external system, and only the approval code, transaction ID, and other relevant information are subsequently sent to NetSuite with an associated order. Users need to understand the ease or difficulty of capturing these payments within NetSuite without direct credit card information.
Solution
The process for capturing CyberSource payments in NetSuite, even when credit card authorization originates from an external system, is straightforward. It involves configuring the CyberSource profile in NetSuite and ensuring specific data points are correctly populated on the Sales Order.
In the CyberSource Profile within NetSuite, check the Allow Request ID to Meet Payment Card Field Requirements checkbox.
Push the transaction_id from CyberSource to NetSuite’s Sales Order P/N Ref field and make sure that the Credit Card Approved box is checked.
Payment will then be captured when a Cash Sales document is created from that Sales Order.
