How to Enable Bulk Merge Tracking on NetSuite Contact Forms?

NetSuite users can enable a dedicated 'Bulk Merge' subtab on contact records to track mass communication activities, which are not displayed by default.

Short answer

To enable bulk merge tracking on NetSuite contact forms, edit the contact form. In the form customization, go to 'Lists', then the 'Communication' subtab, and tick 'Bulk Merge'. This makes the dedicated 'Bulk Merge' subtab visible on contact records, allowing for separate tracking of mass communication activities, which are not shown by default.

Scenario

NetSuite users often need to track mass communication activities, such as bulk emails, directly on contact records. By default, NetSuite does not display a dedicated subtab for these 'Bulk Merge' communications, leading to a lack of visibility for these specific interactions. This requires a customization to the contact form to ensure all communication types are properly tracked and displayed.

Solution

To enable the 'Bulk Merge' subtab for tracking mass communications on NetSuite contact records, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the customization settings for the specific contact form in use.

  2. Within the form customization interface, go to the Lists tab, then select the Communication subtab.

  3. Locate and tick the Bulk Merge option.

  4. Save the updated form.

Bulk Merges are tracked separately from other communication types, and by default, NetSuite does not display this dedicated tab on contact records.
