Users may encounter situations where a sourced field, intended to pull data from a related record, does not display as expected within a NetSuite custom view or report. This issue can arise even after configuring the field's sourcing and attempting formula-based solutions, indicating a potential conflict with how the field is evaluated in its current context.

To resolve issues with a sourced field not displaying in a custom view, consider the following approaches:
Enable 'Store Value'
If the source record (e.g., a Sales Order) is attached when the primary record (e.g., a case) is created, ensure that the custom field's 'Store Value' setting is enabled. This setting allows the sourced value to be saved directly on the record, making it available for display in views.
Evaluate Contextual Limitations
If enabling 'Store Value' does not resolve the issue, or if the scenario does not involve a directly attached source record at creation, it is important to understand that sourced fields are evaluated directly within the context where they are being used. They are therefore subject to how the current context will try to interpret them. If attempts using both the Sourcing and filtering tab and a formula on the Validation and Default tab still result in errors, it indicates that the current context probably does not work with this sourced field, preventing its display.
