Solution
Grouping Packing Slips by Location:
To group packing slips by location, navigate to Transactions > Management > Print Checks and Forms. Select "Packing Slips and Return Forms". Click the "Customize Button" to add 'Location' as an additional filter. To add 'Location' as an additional column to the packing slip's PDF layout, customization is typically performed via Customization > Forms > Transaction Forms or Customization > Forms > Advanced PDF/HTML Templates.
Printing Packing Slips Before Fulfillment:
Packing slips cannot be printed before orders are fulfilled or at least the picking stage has occurred. The purpose of a packing slip is to accurately represent the items contained within the box, which is crucial for lot-numbered or serialized items where exact item identification is necessary.
Workaround for Early Document Generation:
As a workaround, users can print the Sales Order using a new form and a new PDF layout configured to resemble a "Packing Slip". This allows for early document generation with the order's items. However, it is important to note that this document will not reflect which specific items have been picked and placed in the box.
